CLM (Contract Life-Cycle Management)
Worked on re-imagining the CLM product by understanding users pain points. Iteratively worked on the solution by doing user research/validation.

CHALLENGE
The challenge of this project was to come up with a futuristic design that is persona based and focuses on insights from machine learning and provide clear actions.
RESULT
This was a high visibility project and got showcased in Apttus Accelerate event, May 2017. The project got a lot of traction and resonated very well with clients for their existing and new product asks.
TOOLS / METHODOLOGIES
Sketch App, Zeplin, Keynote, Competitor study, Customer Day in Life, Think aloud, Journey Map, Persona Creation, Wireframing, Prototyping, Customer Validation, Lean UX.
DESIGN PROCESS
1. Research
Few initial research techniques include competitive analysis and day in the life study of existing customers. I spoke to internal teams like Customer Success, Professional Services, Product Management and Sales to better understand our customer needs and pain points. Created journey map and core personas as a result of this exercise, which further helped evaluate design decisions and to create empathy.

Performed design evaluation for the existing product. I drove discussions around framework approach and participated in the executive buy-in process (Product and Engineering).

2. Coming up with the framework
Challenges to come up with the framework were the following:
-
Align with efforts around Nova (Apttus Design System) and use CLM usecases to establish common patterns for other products as well.
-
Futuristic design with persona based approach.
-
User state; clearly state where the user is and what the next steps are in the overall workflow.

3. Customer validation and iterations
Given the aggressive timelines around this project (3 months from research to implementation), I followed the Lean UX methodology, where designs were validated with customers and quickly iterated upon, before the next customer validation session. This approach allowed me to validate and explore newer design patterns and sections of the framework (desktop and mobile) with different personas.
4. Implementation
Provided design specs using Zeplin tool. I closely collaborated with the developers to get the designs/interactions implemented correctly.

5. Result and next steps
This was a high visibility project and got showcased in Apttus Accelerate event, May 2017. The project got a lot of traction and resonated very well with clients for their existing and new product asks. The next steps are to roll out the new design into the product in phases. Also, enrich Nova by adding new design components from this project.
